Horse racing at Bellewstown Racecourse, on the Hill of Crockafotha in Co. Meath, is beautifully situated with magnificent views of the Mountains of Mourne to the north and the Irish Sea to the east. The tradition of summer racing at Bellewstown dates back centuries and the first record of racing here appears in the August edition of the Dublin Gazette and the Weekly Courier in 1726.
This superb one mile and one furlong left handed course, in a truly unique location, features both flat and hurdle racing. Bellewstown Races are synonymous with top class racing, wonderful summer evenings, family entertainment and ladies day races which add to the fun.
Bellewstown Racecourse hosts two summer festivals each year, one in July and one in August. This years extended July festival will take place from Wednesday the 3rd of July to Saturday the 6th of July. Their second festival will take place on Wednesday the 28th and Thursday the 29th of August.
Grass and Muck will take place on Thursday, May 17th, 2018. The Event will again take place in Gurteen Agricultural College and it is hoped to build on the success of the 2016. The excellent facilities and central location of Gurgeen College has proven to be a very successful site for this event where nearly 9,500 visitors attended in 2014.
The usual format of ongoing demonstrations throughout the day in the Grass, Reseeding, Silage pit, Slurry Spreading and Farm Yard Manure Spreading area will be continued as well as an even bigger area of Trade Stands.

This year the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open will take place in the prestigeous Lahinch Golf Club, Co Clare from the 3rd to the 7th of July 2019. This promises to be one of the best Irish Open tournaments to date.
The Punchestown Irish National Hunt Festival will take place Tuesday April 30th to Saturday May 4th 2019.
This famous festival is considered the grande finale of the jump season with top class horses, trainers and jockeys from both sides of the Irish Sea converging on the Kildare Venue to settle scores and confirm reputations. The quality of racing is unrivalled with a total of 11 grade 1 contests taking place.
Punchestown is proud to be the home of the Irish National Hunt Racing and host to the famous La Touche Cup, a spectators favourite run over the cross country course - its a 'must see' for the racing fan.
Tues/Weds/Thurs/Fri the first race goes to post at 3.40pm (tbc). Gates open at 12 noon. The last race will be 7.15pm (tbc).
Sat is Festival Family Day, the first race is at 2.30pm (tbc) and the gates will open at 11.30am (tbc). Please arrive early for the complimentary childrens activities.
